Coutts Design Partners with Leica Geosystems Link ZiPCAD to a Disto Plus Distancemeter via Bluetooth Contents: 2. Introduction 3. Features BOSTON, MA, May 2, 2005 – Coutts Design Inc, a publisher of innovative design software, announced a major upgrade to its popular CAD application for Palm OS handhelds today: ZiPCAD™|Pro.
The new release of Coutts Design's flagship product includes many new enhancements, including
“We worked closely with Leica Geosystems to integrate our product with their distancemeter," reports Richard Coutts, founder and President of CDI. "The combination enables one user to document as-builts faster and more accurately than what used to take two people with a tape and sketchpad or laptop."
The new version uses Bluetooth to connect the distancemeter to the handheld Palm OS CAD program. The price has increased to US$495. "We had to license some Bluetooth technology to integrate two devices, " Richard reports, "resulting in an increased license price. We also had to increase the price to attract new resellers."
ZiPCAD™|View has been upgraded and released. Unlike ZiPCAD|Pro, ZiPCAD|View is largely unchanged in this release, aside from some bug fixes (US$95).
